October painting: trees, field & sky

Here is a picture taken in October of last year -- the sunlight on the autumn trees, the phenomenal clouds with their rare blue-scale coloration and painted texture, and shadowed field of grey and dusky purple... it was an amazing moment: autumn glory! Enjoy!

October study: fence, field & scudding sky

People have enjoyed my PA scenes so much that I've decided to post some of my PA pictures, from time to time. I'll be doing this seasonally, so that distant friends can sense the feeling of nature, the beauty and rhythm of creation! :-)

A glory of October sky -- Florida style!

Here is a glimpse of the beauty on Friday... there's just so much to like in this picture: the colored rays of light, a sky divided into blue and pink, quiet reflection in the lake, burning orb of sun, glory of sky! Enjoy!

An autumn scene

Here's an example of October scenery this year -- the colors aren't as brilliant as in some years, but the beauty is still evident... just another area on the divine palette, still opening to sun and sky in natural painting! Enjoy!

A fine October day

Today was one of those rare October days where the light and air and sun and shadow all mix together on a divine palette, creating stunning displays of color and sky... nature's glory! I was blessed with a 17 mile bike ride in this autumn glory... and here is a neat scene from my day [one of a hundred, a beauty-filled path through hardwoods and glades, hills and streams!]. Enjoy!

A study in October light

Here the early evening sun burnishes the trees with its last rays, highlighting the golden leaves against the darkening field and sky: sky in deepening blue and field in muted grey-brown, only leading the eye to the intensity of the shining, golden leaves! It's as if the divine Artist lit the trees in hidden lamplight, painting beauty in blue, light and shadow...! Enjoy! :-)

October road

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight! Proverbs 3:5-6

I heard an elk bugle while I was taking this picture… a short time later two beautiful whitetail buck walked across the road. As I was framing the shot down the road, highlighted in the slanting sunlight, the Proverbs 3 imagery came to mind: God is the one who makes our paths beautiful! He makes every day a dance and creates truth in the inward parts… so trusting Him is key to beauty, to love! [click to enlarge pic]
