All you need to start an asylum

Quote for the day:

“All you need to start an asylum is an empty room and the right kind of people.”

–Eugene Pallette, “My Man Godfrey” (1936)

lol, nice!

And it's the quality, not the quantity, remember! Case in point: This room is empty except for me, and it's a pretty good start already! :-)

grin!

So a guy calls a depression hotline...

...only to find the call center had been outsourced -- along with so many other U.S. jobs!

So he calls the depression hotline, and finds it answered in a tribal Pakistani accent:

Hello, is this the depression hotline?

Helooo! Yas, it tis.

Hi. This is Sam and I'm trying to find someone to talk to...

Ah, yas! And vhat seemms to bee th' preblam?

Um, I don't know how to put this, but I'm feeling suicidal...

[Long pause... ...]

Ah! Suiweecidal! Good, verra good! Cann yew drihve a truck??

drums and cymbals, please, lol!

Sorry about the borderline crass humor, but a friend sent that and I laughed too hard not to pass it along... and it really does serve a very serious point: see what the terrorists stoop to now.

So if you think you've had a bad day, think of this poor guy and smile awhile -- and consider our world that needs your prayers [and laughter!].

God bless all, especially our friends in other countries. :-) And, please forgive me, those who've ever struggled with depression... but sometimes a smile helps! God bless you!

I always wondered what this can looked like!

At long last, a mystery solved!

I always heard people talk about this can of special soup, but never could find it in any of the stores I shopped in. I looked and looked but no luck! the store managers always looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for this special can -- I told them I had it on good authority that such a can existed -- after all, some people were always threatening to open it! -- and I even promised that I'd be good: I said I wouldn't open it in the store if they showed it to me... but, no deal. They acted like they didn't appreciate me asking. Imagine that! And, still I couldn't find the secret can!

So you can imagine my relief when I finally found this rare can of gourmet soup!

mmm! Can't wait to try this one out!

Reading the ingredients, it sounds like it's plenty spicy, lol.

Now if I can just find a can opener...

lol! :-)

A conceptually challenged artisan ca. 1446 B.C.

Tagline reads: You are a leg-end in your own time, lol!

Thanks, Layne and Deborah, for an awesome card! Somehow it fits, lol. :-) I just love the look of the guy in the pink shirt, lol -- his expression says, "Now how in the heck can I worship THAT?" lol... and look at the apprentice craftsman in the brown smock: he's wondering what he ever did to help produce such a masterpiece! Ah, no wonder Moses was so upset, lol. Idolatry is one thing, but the ludicracy of it all just grabs ya! :-) lol...I feel a new edition coming on: Bible stories according to Loy, lol.

(click to view fine print, lol!)

p.s. Thank you, LDK! :-)
