Faith: Wonder in the now

We shall be circled over at length

We shall be circled over at length
by a remoter sky,
and flung into a starrier space
more deep, more high.

Some day the little mind of man
will crack and spin
to let the chattering years fly out,
forever in.

The sea will be more brief to us
than jewel of rain;
and what now stuns us with its might,
beauty or pain,

will be as faint as cheep of mouse
or swing of flower
under the gusty wing of heaven;
and what seems power

will drop away and pale to dust
held in the palm;
and what seems passion now will sink
to leveled calm.

Therefore be quiet with your breath,
all little men,
and hold some wonder, in the Now
for the great Then.

Selah.

A walk in the winter mists II

Another pic of the ghostly mists over the PA fields. Enjoy!

A sky like the song of the sea

I knelt below the grassy line of the Okeechobee dike to take this dramatic pic: clean lines of landscape and freshly washed sky, sky like the grey-blue of the sea -- 100 percent nature's painting, yet almost surreal! Enjoy!

A trinity of light

Here's a neat photo from the weekend in FL... the last rays of the sun highlight three distant clouds in pink, rays flowing from each cloud upward into flowing bluescale clouds... and to the right of the shining clouds stands a formed angel or dove: mystic, beautiful sign of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the beauty of their creation -- almost like the Shekinah glory of the Ark of the Covenant, guarded by the cherubim! One God in Three, dancing in light of all that He has made, attended by worshiping creatures! I took this pic in awe: the moment beyond beauty... to describe it fails utterly of the wonder. Enjoy! :-)

By the waters still my soul

Seek Him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name!

Amos 5:8

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what am I that you are mindful of me,
a mere human, that you care for me?
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8:3-4, 9

My heart will trust

I'll walk closer now
On the higher way…
Through the darkest night
Will You hold my hand?
Jesus guide my way

O You mourn with me
And You dance with me
For my heart of hearts
Is bound to you…

Though I walk through valleys low
I'll fear no evil –
By the waters still my soul,
My heart will trust in You!

My heart will trust in You
O You counsel me and You comfort me
When I cannot see You light my path…

My heart will trust in You, Lord!

My heart will trust in You!

Selah.

A new year look through eyes of wonder

Young 2007 looks out to the horizon, captivated by the sun and sea. Cap'n says, "It's a good year, mates!" "A time for sailing and discovery!" :-)
